Volunteer on race day
Small events run on volunteers: course marshals, water stations, packet pickup and finish-line crews. Many registration pages have a volunteer sign-up. If not, email the organizer a week or two ahead.
Not running?
Add a stone anyway.
You don’t need a bib to help. Every listing names who benefits, and the organizer’s page is where you can give, volunteer or fundraise.
Give directly
A donation usually reaches the cause in full, while part of an entry fee pays for timing, permits and shirts. Most organizer pages have a Donate tab, or you can give to the beneficiary itself.
Fundraise or cheer
Some events let participants start a fundraising page or join a team. If you can’t take part, a crowd at the finish still matters to a first-year event.
